Well, lets just say that I think your selections are genius, and dead on. Of course, I might be biased considering that my birthplace and original home city is listd as #1.
Still, I think Zurich deserves it. It is a decidedly beautiful city, with scenery that can barely be described. A historic old European city of about a half million people rambling along a river, with another half million in little towns surrounding a perfectly proportioned turqoise lake. Vistas of green hills in the foreground and breathtaking white mountains in the background. The food is amazing, the pace of life is measured, the city is safe and clean, the trains and trams run precisely on time, and of course, the chocolate and cheese are fresh. What more could you ask for? How about having a myriad of alpine regions only a couple hours away, Italy and France nextdoor, and being smack dab in the middle of Western Europe. Still want more? Zurich is also home to a thriving music and art scene, and is a major hub of the electronic music circuit. The Zurich Street Fair in August is now bigger than the Berlin Love Parade! Oh, and I hear its a good place to do your banking.
